Composed for my daughter, Margaret in Vienna, Austria in 1971. Our comfort zone lies in familiarity. We like and relate to what we know and turn away from the unfamiliar. These pieces, hopefully, will aid in the development of a twentieth century awareness in young pianist as the four pieces are a blend of traditional and contemporary idioms.
