Yes. All the works on ThatNewMusicWebsite.com have instrument abbreviations on their web page and in their title. A list of the abbreviations used is here.
We don’t have a formula, but we do have a few recommendations. Selecting prices for your work should be part of a larger marketing strategy you have for your music. You may wish to give a few works away or sell a few works for extremely low prices to encourage people who are unfamiliar with your work to look at it. Also remember that for you as the contributor, there are no costs to reproduce or distribute your work. Consider finding a work in print that is of similar length, page numbers, and scoring size, and then reduce the price of your work from there. How much you reduce it is up to you. Half the price of the printed work may be a good starting point. Comparing your work to others with similar characteristics on ThatNewMusicWebsite.com may also factor into your decision.
Yes. Just fill in the price for the “Full Score” on the submission form and leave the price for “Score & Parts” blank. Then we will only create one page for your score and parts with one price. You may also include a note in the “any special instructions” box on the submission form.
Score samples and audio samples will be shown on the same page. To see an example, look at this page. The audio samples are at the bottom of the page.
You can upload the scores and the parts. There is an option to specify different prices for the score than for score and parts. We will then create two separate pages (one for the score; and one for score and parts) and link them to each other. For an example, see this page.
Yes. You only agree not to sell your work for the same price or less in the same medium. For example, if your wind quintet is for sale and is downloadable on ThatNewMusicWebsite.com for $4.00, you agree not to sell a download of your work for $4.00 or less on any other website.
You can include all this information on ThatNewMusicWebsite.com. Audio samples and program notes can appear on the work’s page. If there is something else you would like distributed with your work (that will be downloaded with your score when someone buys it), just include it as part of your score or as a separate file and let us know you would like it distributed with your work. You can tell us that in the “any special instructions” section of the submission form.
Yes. Just email us and let us know what you would like to do, and we’ll send you a link to upload additional files.
The site is set up to allow any file type to be downloaded. If you have multiple files that need downloaded with a work, they can be placed in a .zip folder and downloaded that way.
There is a check box in the checkout process that is checked by default. This check box requests that we share the buyer's email address with the contributor. If the box is checked, we will let you know after the purchase is made.
We don't have any tools to promote concerts on the site yet, but we're looking into creating an interactive calendar and a wiki page that would allow contributors to promote performances, workshops, etc.
Yes. Or, if you prefer to do it yourself, PDFill PDF Editor is a free program that can merge PDF files.
