I discovered "The Willow Song" while reading Shakespeare's Othello. After trying unsuccessfully to convince a friend to sing it in the production, I resigned myself to re-working the melody into a new instrumental piece. The Willow should be easily accessible to the late intermediate to early advanced performer. One should pay careful attention to the use of 12/16 and 6/8 meters beginning on page 5, keeping the 16th notes steady and observing all accents.
